Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s Information Minister and senior PPP party member has reportedly resigned from the federal cabinet citing the government moves to censor the media. Reports today indicate that the government ordered local cable operators not to broadcast Geo TV.
We expect to see the further erosion of President Zardari’s government and his already tenuous grip on the country in the coming days and weeks. We also expect the “establishment” to actively strengthen competing factions within the PPP for the eventual replacement of Zardari (e.g. Atizaz Ahsan) as a means of returning stability to the country.
Expect some movement in Punjab; especially keep an eye on its governor, Salman Taseer.

I hope it is zardari’s end. He is nothing but another corrupt leader in the leagues of nawaz shariff and benazir bhutto. Sadly the fact is that the only good leaders we ever got that actually did good for pakistan were military leaders [excluding jinnah].

As if Geo is not paid for the political stances it takes, if Geo journalism is not biased, if Geo’s owners don’t believe in “making presidents” and they are not kingmakers.
as a leading channel, viewed so heavily abroad, the least they can do is uphold their national and civilian duty to hold the country together.. Pakistan needs unity – not further disintegration. An approach I hope our journalists, authors and bloggers will start taking. He’s the man available and he’s the one we’ve got to work with. Now can we move on and refocus?

We dont care who wins who loses , who stays and who leaves .The only thing that matter to us is the strength of Pakistan both economically and socially.

I think zardari should be cornered and defanged but he has a role in national politics.Kiyani must leave his fate to courts and public instead of some harsh action,I think he will not let Zardari to be political martyr, My assumption is that Zardari might linger on for sometime.
